Reading skills

This week and last week we have been reading a book called catching a space duck. The skills that I have been doing is reading the book and then summing what happened in it. Sometimes I read the book and then I re-read  the book so I can understand whats going on.

Reading to Nga Rau Rito

Last week the whole school has gathered around room 11. We had gather around room 11 because we were going to open  our new library  we were also happy the Juniors mostly. After opening the library each class had walked in the library looked for books we had to read to our juniors the class that chose us it was Nga Rau Rito. We let them choose the book they wanted us read to them they enjoyed letting us read to them. They told that they wanted us to come back to they're class another day.

Design for good

This week we have been doing activities for homework about a book called designed for good maybe you have read the story. In reading we have been learning about exploring language. The hard part was doing one activity a night because I am so busy doing chores and get home late. The easy part was understanding what they were saying.

Awa history.

This term we are learning about the awa history and our whole class had to make a D.L.O on what we know and what we don't know. Easy part for me was knowing what I know about the awa history. Hard part was not knowing much history with the awa.

Reading

This week my group and I were earning about thinking critically and to evaluate the authors text

The hard part: was thinking CRITICALLY. 

The easy part: was getting a lot of help from a video and my teacher.

Fish highway

Last week my reading group and I were reading about a The fish highway.This book is about a Scintence identifying other types of fish and how they eat and climb.When we were  on the mat we were asking question like why do fishes climb, why is there heaps  of pipes and and what is the story all about.



So here is an animation about fishes.

Learning journey

Last week we were learning about fishers. There some interesting questions said and writ in. there was one like, why are there heaps of pipes, how do kaoro fish climb and whats happening in this story, what are the fish doing and what is happening in the story about the fishes and why do scientist learn about them?

Follow up Activity

This week my reading group and I were reading The Fish Highway. The thing that I found  out was there is a maze of water and sewage pipes under  the hole country they're is gas pipes,internet pipes,Water pipes,brick-lined pipes,stormwater pipes and sewage pipes.When you have rubbish in your hand you my just throw it on the grown it would go into the sewage and lead out to the ocean and see creature come up and eat the rubbish and that is not good.They will die.

Hard part was getting to understand the story.
Easy part was understanding some of the story.

kia ora today i have been  learning  what reading is so I know how to how to use appropriate skills,technology and resources to find relevant information,Identify and evaluate the writer's purpose and ways they use  language and ideas suit their purpose.

The last few days we have been learning about activating prior knowledge. Now mostly my reading group have learnt to do this I find it easy to activate prior knowledge.

My READING

These past three week I been reading with my reading group and teacher i have been learning about type of squids I really only know two  types of squid Colossal squid and a baby squid.
